Former minister and senior BJP leader P Manikyala Rao strongly criticized the comments that film actor-turned Balakrishna on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said Chandrababu’s deeksha was a publicity stunt, unlike Narendra Modi’s deeksha which did not affect the administration or entail unnecessary expenditure. On the contrary, Chandrababu’s deeksha is nothing but a drama. The protest was aimed at protecting one’s political identify.

He also strongly criticized the trend of branding everyone who criticized the chief minister as criminals. He said the deeksha was aimed at covering up the wrong deeds, acts of omission and commission and corruption.

He also demanded a fact-finding commission on the allegations being leveled by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. At the same time, he also criticized the attacks by Pawan fans on media personnel. He called for restraint.
