The long awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail opened its first phase: a 30 km stretch between Miyapur and Nagole(with 24 stations) and it was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, November 28th.

The PM was received by the Governor, T.Narasimhan and Chief Minister of Telangana, K.Chandrashekar Rao and all senior ministers. They took a short ride in the Metro train.

Tight security

Amid tight security and thousands of police, the PM along with the other dignitaries took a short ride in the metro.

The Hyderabad Metro line will eventually be a 72-km elevated stretch, which will be completed by next year. It is expected to relieve the transport problems plaguing the growing metropolis.
