Popular director B Jaya passes away

Barely 24 hours after the tragic demise of popular film personality and politician Nandamuri Harikrishna, Bollywood grieved the sudden passing away of popular film director B Jaya.

Known as a dynamic woman entrepreneur, B Jaya passed away due to cardiac arrest late on Thursday night. She was 54. B Jaya is the wife of top-notch PRO BA Raju.

Jaya began her career as a journalist. She also officiated as the general manager of Super Hit, a popular film weekly. Later,she turned into a director with the film, “Chantigadu”.

Born in Ravulapalem village of Addateegala mandal in East Godavari, she carved a niche for herself with her special brand of films. Among her popular films are Chantigadu, Premikulu, Gundammagari Manavadu, Sawal, Lovely and Vaisakham. Her direction in Vaisakham came in for critical acclaim and she was given the prestigious Siver Crown Award for her work.

The Telugu film world is mourning her sudden demise. Several prominent film personalities rushed to her residence to pay their last respects.
