Demanding an unconditional apology from the TDP minister Devineni Uma for his derogatory remarks against YSR family, YSR Congress has said that his past has been laden with criminal cases and his language has been highly objectionable and unsuitable to parliamentary democracy.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, party MLA K Srinivasulu said, the tone and tenor of the TDP minister speaking from the heartland of Kadapa is unpardonable and people will not tolerate such an attitude of his.
Dubbing the people of Kadapa as villains has become a habit for the TDP minister, whose past is dotted with commissions and other nefarious activities and being the irrigation minister he has been passing highly objectionable remarks and no person from the region would excuse him.
It was TDP, Chandrababu Naidu and Devineni Uma who objected to the irrigation works that were taken up by Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy government through litigations and dharnas and now they speak in terms of giving water to Rayalaseema which is ridiculous, he said.
He has been staking claim for the good work done by Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy who is been revered as a Godly figure in the region which was the reason why many hearts stopped on hearing the sudden death of the former chief minister. No other chief minister, even NTR, could get close to the hearts o the multitude of people, he said.
The deeksha at Kadapa seeking steel plant is only to divert the attention of the people as the Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been receiving huge response across the state.
While TDP was in the coalition for four years, it did not occur to them that the State Reorganisation Act promises of a steel plant at Kadapa, besides Special Category Status (SCS), Railway Zone at Vizag, besides other development projects.
It was only after they pulled out the coalition did they start making noise and this is only to divert the attention of the people from the four years of inefficiency in governance besides rampant corruption, he said.
The remarks of Devineni Uma and other TDP leaders are highly derogatory and we demand an unconditional apology from them, he said.
