YSR Congress Party MPs’ indefinite hunger strike entered the second day on Saturday, as thousands of YSRCP activists from across Andhra Pradesh staged relay fasts.

After submitting their resignation letters to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan over the “failure” of the Centre to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, the five YSR Congress Party members began an ‘indefinite hunger strike” in AP bhavan in Delhi.

YSRCP MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy,YV Subbareddy, Varaprasad, Avinash Reddy, Midhun Reddy are undertaking the fasting to step up their fight for special status for the state.

Several party MLAs and cadres from the state also joined the protest.
