YSR Congress Party senior leader Dharmana Prasada Rao said that the TDP government is trying to project YS Jagan’s padayatra as an unlawful issue dropping hints that permission needs to be taken before taking up the Yatra.

Speaking to the media at the Lotus Pond office on Thursday, Dharmana questioned the vindictive attitude of the Chandrababu Naidu by trying to create hurdles to the Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

“It is ridiculous on part of Chandrababu Naidu to remark that with whose permission is the Yatra taking part, unmindful of the fact that it is a democratic process which was followed by various leaders and it is part of the responsibility vested on the Leader of Opposition to highlight the issues of public interest during the 180-day Padayatra spread across 150 assembly constituencies of the State.

Padayatras were taken up by former Prime Minister Chandrasekhar, former Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy, his daughter Smt Sharmila and even Chandrababu Naidu himself had undertaking such an exercise earlier and now the same man contending that the mass contact programme was an unlawful activity and trying to project it as an law and order issue is absurd and ridiculous,” he said.
