The Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP government in Haryana was directly responsible for the violence unleased by the Dera Sacha Sauda followers after their leader Ram Rahim was convicted for rape on Friday, according to the Haryana High court.

Panchkula is a township adjacent to Chandigarh and the state government failed to prevent more than a lakh followers from gathering in the township next to Chandigarh, ahead of the verdict on Friday. Minutes after Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the head of a religious sect called the Dera Sacha Sauda, was convicted for rape by a court in Panchkula, his followers had gone on a rampage which claimed nearly 36 lives and left hundreds injured.

“This was political surrender to allure vote bank”

“This was political surrender to allure vote bank ,” said the High court bench comprising Chief Justice S.S.Saron and two other judges. They raised the question, “If the Chief Minister was aware of the presence of anti-social elements, why was the govt. Not able to prevent their entry for the past seven days?”

“PM is PM of country and not of particular party”

The High court also censured the Additional Solicitor-General Satya Pal Jain who was representing the central BJP government for saying that the violence was a matter for the state government . The court immediately countered his words by saying that “PM is PM of country and not of particular party” and asked, “Is Punjab and Haryana not a part of India?”

Fly the CBI judge to the Rohtak jail

The court also ordered the immediate attachment of all the assets, bank accounts and properties belonging to the Dera. It also ordered the Haryana government to fly the CBI judge to the Rohtak jail with adequate security for pronouncing the sentence on the Dera chief on Monday, August 28th.
