The recent violence that erupted in the Southern city of Charlottsville where white racist and Neo-'Nazi groups assembled on Friday rocked the core of American conscience. One woman was killed and many more injured when a car, allegedly driven by a rally participant, sped into a crowd of anti-racism protesters. Two state troopers monitoring the action died in a helicopter crash.
The present President Donald Trump and the previous President Barack Obama, reacted very differently to the violence.
Trump’s first reaction was to blame the violence on both sides. He was vastly criticised for not straightaway condemning the racist violence which led to the loss of 3 lives including 2 policemen and left nearly 20 people injured.
After widespread criticism , Trump had to retract his previous statement and say that “racism is evil.”
Former United States President Barack Obama’s posted his reaction to the racist violence on Twitter along with the photograph below and it has now become the most liked tweet on the social media platform.
