Nandyal by-poll on August 23

The Election Commission today sounded the poll bugle for Nandyal by-poll. As per the Election Commission’s schedule, the by-election to Nandyal Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh will be held on August 23. The notification will be issued on July 29 and the last date for filing nominations will be August 5.

The Nandyal seat has fallen vacant due to sudden death of MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy in March.
The model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the district.
While Silpa Mohan Reddy is contensting on the YSRCP ticket, TDP filed Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy for the seat.
