In a major jolt to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Hyderabad High court on Tuesday served notices on four of his cabinet colleagues for their defection to ruling TDP before assuming charge as ministers.

The four ministers Adinarayana Reddy, Amarnath Reddy, Akhila Priya and Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao were elected from YSR Congress party and defected to ruling TDP. The four MLAs have been inducted in the Naidu’s cabinet in the recent reshuffle of the state cabinet.

Based on the petition lodged by journalist shiva Prasad Reddy, Court issue notices and asked them to respond in four weeks time. The High court’s direction assumed significance following the YSR Congress party’s demand to AP Assembly speaker to disqualify the four MLAs for defecting the party . However, the Speaker was yet to take an action against the turncoats.
