Feeling cheated by the party leadership, senior TDP leaders like former minister JR Pushparaj were thinking on the lines of quitting the party according to the sources close to the dissident leaders. Though there were other valid reasons, the immediate reason for the decision to quit the party, the sources said is feeling of deceived by the Party President Chandrababu Naidu. He is giving priority to those who shifted loyalties after the party coming to power in giving tickets at the cost of old guards a senior leader said.

The Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy is reportedly expressed his displeasure with the party leadership over denying MLC ticket to his brother KE Prabhakar. JR Pushparaj is another senior leader associated with the party since its inception is also said to be unhappy. Naidu earlier promised him Rajya Sabha ticket but at the last minute changes his mind and offered it to TG Venkatesh, former minister in Congress government. And it was alleged that crores of rupees changed hands in the deal. However Pushparaj hoping MLC ticket remained in the party, but Naidu preferred another former minister in Congress government Manikya Vara Prasad from Guntur district. Twice deceived Pushparaj is said to be thinking leaving the party.

Meanwhile a general perception is growing ground in the party that Naidu giving priority to those who shifted loyalties after the party coming to power with moneybags and ignoring old guards and BC and SC leaders who remained in the party though its thick and thin fortunes. And many leaders belong to these down trodden section are planning to quit the party to join YCP, the only other option before them.
