The main opposition party in the Assembly, YSR Congress Party has intensified the movement to achieve the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP has released its action plan to bring awareness among the people and put pressure on the ruling TDP on the issue.

YSRCP is holding five public meetings under ‘Jai Andhra Pradesh’ title across the State. As part of this, the first Jai Andhra Pradesh public meeting is scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 6. The Jai Andhra Pradesh public meeting will be held at India Priyadarshini Municipal stadium in Visakhapatnam on November 6. YSRCP will highlight the benefits of special status in the five Jai Andhra Pradesh public meetings. In this regard, YSRCP released public meeting posters at the party’s central office.

Speaking on the occasion, MLC Umareddy Venkateshwarlu said: “Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government is confined to only publicity gimmicks and making fake promises during the past two-and-a-half years. YSRCP will continue fighting for getting special status until we achieve it. The Jai Andhra Pradesh public meetings are aimed at bringing awareness among people about the corruption practices in TDP government and fake promises by Chandrababu Naidu.”

YSRCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy, Mopidevi Venkataramana, Vasireddy Padma and other leaders participated in the poster release function.
