“We are ready for exams but not without mates maimed and blinded by Indian forces.” Students refused to write 10th and 12th exams scheduled in November and are taking out huge processions in Srinagar and other important towns across Kashmir.

“We will not sit in exams without Insha and Yasir. We will not appear in exams without our friends who have been rendered blind by the government forces,” they said. Hundreds of students, both boys and girls, from different private and government schools held demonstrations ,holding placards and banners.

The state government has announced that it will go ahead with examinations in November this year. “On one hand, government is perpetrating atrocities on us and on the other they are asking us to appear in the examinations,” said the students. “All but 90 innocent Kashmiri people have been murdered and over 300.” have been blinded. Government wants to conduct examinations to give an impression that all is well in Kashmir.”

“Boycott, boycott, examination boycott”, “Justice for Insha, justice for pellet survivors,” “All the minors and school going children must be freed from jails,” “Save Children Save Future,” read some of the placards held by the students.
They have also appealed to the UN to resolve their predicament.
