TDP MLA sentenced to 3-year jail term

In a major shock to the TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, a local court in West Godavari district sentenced him to three years jail term in several cases on Wednesday.

According to reports, the Bhimadole Magistrate Court on Wednesday awarded three-year jail term to Chintamaneni in connection with the assault case for pushing Vatti Vasant Kumar and former MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao at a public meeting in 2011.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,500. However, he was granted a bail.
