After a highly successful ‘Fidaa’, young Mega hero Varun Tej is back with another love story. This time, he is coming with cute actress Raashi Khanna by his side. Directed by Venky Atluri, ‘Tholi Prema’ is hitting the screens with high expectations. Let us see how the film is.

Story

Aditya (Varun) is a youngster who finds Varsha (Raashi) at a railway station and falls for her. After missing from there, Aditya finds Varsha again in the college. After getting close, they face some issues and part ways. They meet once again abroad and how things shape up after that forms rest of the story.

Performances

Varun Tej is improving with each passing film and he shows more maturity in ‘Tholi Prema’. He looked very stylish in the film and performed quite well in the emotional sequences.

Raashi Khanna gets an author backed role and she performs it effortlessly. She looks gorgeous onscreen and this can be stated as one of her best performances. Priyadarshi gets a full-length role and evokes good laughs. Same is the case with Hyper Adhi who appears in the second half. Vidyu Raman is hilarious.

Senior actors like Suhasini and Naresh play their part well and rest of the cast is apt in their roles

Technicians

Thaman’s music is definitely the biggest asset of this film. His songs and background score elevated the film to another level. George C Willaims cinematography looks cool and the visuals suit the film’s nature. Editing is slick and effective though the film is slow paced in the second half. Production values are top notch and the richness can be seen in every frame.

Director Venky Atluri makes a confident debut as a director. He is successful in extracting solid performances for the actors. His dialogues had a lot of depth and strikes chord with the audience. He presented the film in a fresh manner. Had he not fell in the commercial trap in the latter half, the film wold have been way better.

Analysis

‘Tholi Prema’ is a simple love story and the trailer gives an idea of what to expect from this film. As expected, the film has some beautiful moments and impressive performances. The first half of the film is fresh and takes you into a cool journey. The interval comes with a conflict and after that is where the film becomes predictable.

Though the second half starts on an interesting note, it falls flat after some time and becomes dragging. Then, the film gets some pace during climax and ends on a happy note. Also, the film’s plot and narration may not cater to the masses.

Conclusion

On the whole, ‘Tholi Prema’ lives up to its expectations and will make a decent watch this Valentine weekend. If you could ignore a slightly sluggish second half, you can completely enjoy this flick. Let us see how the masses embrace this film.
