The Andhra Pradesh’s prestigious Fibre Grid project was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday here in the state capital Amaravati. The Firbe Grid scheme is aimed at providing internet, television and telephone services to every household with 100 percent connectivity in the state for just Rs 149 per month. In the first phase, the scheme will be provided to 55 villages in Krishna and Guntur districts.

Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Supreme Court judge Justice NV Ramana, Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, Minister Nara Lokesh among several other AP Ministers and TDP leaders were present during the event.

Without any requirement of smart television sets, people can avail the services with a set top box. Among various services, the Fibre Grid will offer video conferencing, movies on demand etc.
