Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was reelected as national president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for the second consecutive term. Of course, it was just a formality.

But the recently concluded Mahanadu is not without any surprises. No one from founder president of the party NT Rama Rao’s family was present. The party leaders found it difficult to convince the party cadre and the media on the reasons behind the absense of Nandamuri family. The Minister Somireddy Chandramohan proceedings Reddy who briefed the press said that Balaiah Babu and Junior NTR were busy with their shooting schedules hence they could not turn up. Bu there was no one to take logic seriously and many within the party said that it an indication of widening gap between Nandamuri and Nara families.

Besides the NTR family other senior leaders too abstained from Mahanadu from different known and unknown reasons. Prominent among absentees include Murali Mohan a, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Siva Prasad, all MPs and MLC Ramasubba Reddy. Meanwhile many party workers were asking Do Nandamuri family abstained or boycotted?
