After winning Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand assembly elections and manipulating the numbers in both Goa and Manipur to form government in these 2 states where they were only the second large party(behind the Congress), BJP is now eyeing the municipal elections in Delhi.
The AAP party’s landslide victory of 2014 in the capital, after routing the BJP has always been a major embarrassment for the saffron party.
By hook or by crook
The BJP is also hoping that the Election Commission confirms the suspension of 21 of the AAP legislators for holding an office of profit against the rules. The controversy arose in 2015 when these 21 MLAs were appointed as parliamentary secretaries, said to be an office of profit, to Delhi government ministers.
Next in line is the state of Gujarat, where the party has begun full fledged preparations for winning the upcoming elections at any cost (the assembly elections are due end of this year). BJP is also eyeing the state of Orissa, where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik holds sway till now.
