Naidu conducts review meeting

Intensifying of Mega Aqua Food Park victims’ agitations and mulling of support from all the political parties pressurized Telugu Desam government. Communist Parties and Janasena have already extended their support to the victims of Mega Aqua Food Part at Bhimavaram in West Godavari. Leader of the opposition, YSRCP Chief, YS Jagan also announced that he is going to visit Mega Aqua Food Park affected areas on October 19.

All these political developments have made the TDP government to rethink on the issue. Chief Minister has immediately conducted review meeting with higher officials and Ministers on the issue at his camp office in Vijayawada. The officials reportedly brought to Chief Minister’s notice that the farmers of the area are not against the food park, but they are worried about the wastage from the Food Park polluting the river Godavari and simultaneously affecting the crops.

Naidu directed the officials to take immediate action to divert the releasing of noxious waste into sea through the pipeline. Chief Minister has also directed the officials to constitute a consultation committee headed by District Collector to have discussion with the farmers’ demands.

Naidu also clarified that Mega Aqua Food Park had already been invested worth of Rs 25 crore and it is not possible to shift the project from the place. Instead, the officials are to take all the measures to dispel apprehensions among the farmers.
