Jasmine to be state flower for Andhra Pradesh

The AP Government has announced the state symbols. Neem tree has been declared as the official tree of the state, while black buck has been declared the state animal.

Jasmine would be the state flower and rose-ringed parakeet has been declared the official bird of the state. Orders to this effect were released on Wednesday.

Interestingly, it took the Government of Andhra Pradesh four years after bifurcation to declare the official flower, tree, bird and animal.
