In a shock to the Central Government, the Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre to petition seeking the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Congress leader P Sudhakar Reddy filed a petition in the Court alleging that the Centre has not taken any action on several provisions of bifurcation act.

The division bench of Supreme Court told Solicitor General Maninder Singh, “Nearly four years have passed and nothing has happened. File your response.”

The Court gave four weeks to the Centre to reply to the petition.
