Dubbing Chandrababu Naidu as a flip-flopper and jumping jack on the Special Category Status (SCS), YSR Congress has said that he has no moral right to convene an All-Party meeting and instead he should follow our leader to ensure that all 25 MPs quit by the end of this Budget session to send a strong signal to the nation on the issue.

Speaking to media here on Tuesday, party senior leader Dharmana Prasada Rao said, ‘ All-Party meeting has become a forgotten concept in the term Chandrababu Naidu as he had never taken anyone into confidence while taking decisions and now to save his fast eroding base he cannot make everyone party to help rekindle and redeem his image.

He has no option but to toe our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s line and prove his sincerity by asking his MPs to quit and if all the 25 MPs from the resign on a solitary issue the message that would be going out would be strong and stern.’

What Chandrababu should remember is that we have taken the decision of moving the no-confidence motion on the NDA government of which TDP was a coalition partner and Chandrababu Naidu has not only been sharing power with the Centre, but he should also take the blame of not getting SCS for the past four years, he said.

The SCS did not spring up overnight and it was an assurance given in 2014 to which the Congress, BJP and TDP have agreed upon and if the state did not get it in the last four years, the onus lies equally on BJP and TDP as well.

Our Party on the other hand has been consistent in its stand on SCS and held dharnas, protests and took the battle to Delhi as well on numerous occasions and Chandrababu Naidu has played spoilsport on all occasions.

It was he who had compromised and sought a special package in lieu of SCS while we were resolute, categorical and vociferous on the issue and its importance by bringing in awareness among the people on why there is no substitute for SCS. Chandrababu Naidu, on the other hand, contended that SCS is not a wonder drug and we should not confront the Centre as we would be deprived of the benefits and tried his best to distort its relevance.

When such a person pulls out of the coalition and drums up the talk of an All-Party meeting, it looks ridiculous and his quixotic methods would have no takers, he said.

In the governance of Chandrababu Naidu, All Party meeting has become a forgotten concept as he did not consult the Opposition on various important issues which include, the deviation from the recommendations of Sivaramakrishnan Committee Report on capital formation, taking over Polvaram project from the Centre, while accepting Arun Jaitley’s proposal for special package or setting up of Janmabhoomi Committees making the elected representatives irrelevant.

He had also made a mockery of parliamentary democracy by buying MLAs from the Opposition Party and inducting some of the turncoats into the cabinet.

How can person with such shallow and petty-mindedness even attempt to call for an All Party meeting on not getting SCS, as he was on the other side till a couple of days back, and he is at the deepest ebb on moral grounds to call for such a meeting.

His sincerity can only be gauged if he asks his MPs to join us in quitting the Parliament on the last day of the ongoing budget session, he said.

The All Party does not comprise, Jana Sena of Pawan Kalyan, who has been very outspoken on the State issues from 2014, the Party does not include BJP which has initially agreed and then went back on the SCS and our Party had announced that it will not attend the Assembly session unless the action is taken against the turncoats.

‘We will not be a party to the efforts of Chandrababu Naidu to distort the SCS issue as he was the root cause its non-implementation and suddenly if he changes his stance for political reasons, he should first prove his sincerity and convince people about the genuineness of his cause as our leader could mobilise public opinion in favour of SCS and also mustered support of various political parties, both regional and national,’ he said.
