AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Davos tour raising eyebrows in the political circles in the Telugu states.

A delegation led by the Chief Minister has left to Davos, with the aim of attracting investments for AP on January 16. The delegation will visit Zurich, Davos and Klosters till January 21 and Chandrababu will attend 45-50 bilateral meetings during his five-day visit. Chandrababu will also hold multilateral meetings, and one-on-one meetings arranged by the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, according to an official statement.

On the other hand, the yellow media has been boasting continuously that Chandrababu has been invited to participate in 47th Annual General Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. But the secret behind the tour has invited criticism from various quarters. Several Facebook posts Babu’s Davos tour have triggered debates and they make for highly amusing reading.

As per the FB posts, the AP CM has spent a huge sum to get a pass to join the forum in Davos. He reportedly spent Rs 4.5 crore public money to get a chance to take part in the World Economic Forum summit. The GOs and several releases regarding this tour have been going viral on the social networking sites for the past few days.

It is also learnt that to get the pass, the finance department has released the money in October itself. The finance department has released Rs 6.39 crore for Babu’s Davos tour in October. Out of this, Rs 4.5 crore was spent for entry pass.

It is being said that despite spending such a whopping amount for the entry pass, Chandrababu will not be given a chance to speak in the Forum and he will be a mute spectator at the event. Chandrababu’s name was not event mentioned in the speakers list.
