Chris Martin, the lead singer of the music band , “Cold Play” is on cloud nine. The recent Mumbai concert , Global India Citizen, held for the first time in India on November 19, 2016, was a stupendous success.
All the hit songs of this famous British rock band was on play and included ‘Head Full of Dreams’ ,Yellow’, ‘Paradise’ to ‘Magic’, ‘Hymn for the weekend’ and ‘Fix You.’ The 100 minute performance had an enthusiastic and young , cheering crowd.
AR Rahman sang ‘Vande Mataram’ and Chris Martin decided to give him company. In fact, the words ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ that he sang with Rahman was a spontaneous and greatly appreciated .
In an interview to the media, he said, “India appeals to everybody. For me personally, I always felt like we would come here when we wanted to embrace all colours. I don’t mean racially, but literally; just all the colours of the world. To me, India’s always represented ‘everything’, it represents ‘all’. Everything is here. You can stay here forever and you’ll never feel like you’ve missed out on life. There’s enough to keep you occupied.”
