‘Kabali’ and ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ are two most hyped projects in Tamil and Telugu as they caste South India’s biggest stars Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan respectively. Now the latest rumour is that the makers of these two films took inspiration from the same Hollywood film.
The film’s name is ‘Taken’ in which a father goes searching for his kidnapped daughter. The film was an action adventure which became a super hit. Taking this point Kamal made ‘Cheekati Rajyam’ but with small change in the storyline. Here his son gets kidnapped and the father is a police officer whereas he is a retired gang star in the original.
Rajnikanth’s ‘Kabali’ is also said to be inspired by the same film in which Rajni plays the role of a retired don who goes back in to the mafia world to get his daughter back. The original had France as the backdrop while ‘Kabali’ will be in the backdrop of Malaysia. But the makers made a lot of changes in the script to suit the nativity.
Anyway even legends like Kamal and Rajni took inspiration from a Hollywood movie. But who cares about all these as long as they entertain the viewers.
