The Supreme Court on Thursday banned electronic media from telecasting images of minor girls, even in morphed or blurred forms, who were allegedly raped at a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. The Supreme Court also expressed concern over the identity of minor rape victims revealed in the media. The bench, headed by Justices MB Lokur and Deepak Gupta also asked the media not to interview the girls and sought assistance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. It served notices to both the Centre and the Bihar government in this matter.

Today, on 2nd August has been called to protest the shelter home horror.The Opposition parties of Bihar united to protest the horrifying atrocities committed on orphan girls in the shelter home in Muzaffarpur. Supported by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, the Left is demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The government has recommended and transferred the case to CBI. As previously reported, the whole story of horror was revealed after the Tata Institute of Social Sciences team brought out their report on the goings–on in the shelter home.
