The whole country is now looking towards Karnataka as the recently held assembly election results will be known tomorrow, on 15th May 2018. The state had set a record by its 72% turnout on 12th May. The ruling Congress government , headed by Siddharamaiah has performed well but many exit polls predict a BJP win or a hung assembly.
Counting of votes will start by 8 am in all the 222 of the 224 constituencies that went to polls on May 12. In the beginning postal ballots will be counted (i.e of officers who were in election duty) followed by the votes cast through EVMs.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has announced that this will be his last elections, dismissed the exit polls results as entertainment for the weekend and said he was confident the Congress would return to power with 120 seats. BS Yeddyurappa, the BJP CM candidate said exit polls that predicted a hung assembly in the state got it wrong and offered to give in writing that BJP would win more than 120 seats.
Tuesday will decide their respective fates.
