75 % quota to locals in jobs: YS Jagan

In a string of concrete assurances, YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured that he would fill up all the vacant 1.42 lakh jobs apart from completing the Bandar Port in the original extent of 4,800 acres of land besides providing 75 % reservations to locals in jobs and setting up of village secretariats to boost employment opportunities to the youth and fight for Special Category Status (SCS) by emerging as a force to reckon with.

Addressing a mammoth gathering here on Tuesday, the Leader of Opposition said, SCS is the only way out for development and employment generation. If we win all the 25 Lok Sabha seats, we will have a better bargaining power and we need not have any tie-up with anyone but will emerge as a force to reckon with.

We have seen all the Political Parties, BJP, TDP and Congress and they have all failed us. Enough is enough, we need not be at the mercy of others but should emerge as a force to reckon with by having 25 MPs on hand and will extend support only if the Party in power at the Centre gives us a written assurance on SCS.

Chandrababu Naidu who has watered down SCS all the years had now taken a U-turn and has shameless started a Deeksha which is ridiculous and such people should be taught a lesson.

On the local issues, he said, YSR has laid foundation stone for Bandar Port in a extent of 4,800 and Chandrababu Naidu had given a notification of land acquisition for 30,000 acres abutting the port and nothing was done so far but it has done only damage to the farmers who were deprived of bank loans and other transactions.

After our government comes to power with your blessings, the first thing we will do is start and complete the Bandar Port in the originally agreed 4,800 acres of land and not in the extended peripheries. This will create employment to our youth. In the very first session of the assembly we will bring in a legislation giving 75 % reservation to locals in the existing and coming up industries.

This apart all the 1.42 lakh jobs will be filled up and Public Service Commission exams will be conducted periodically. Village secretariats will be formed and ten persons from each village will get employment and public services will be delivered within 72 hours, he said.

YSR during his term has started an Imitation Jewellery Park but Chandrababu Naidu has been neglecting it and basic facilities like water are being deprived. Bandar, though being district headquarters has been totally neglected. The population has come down by 10,000 between the two censuses carried out in 2001 and 2010 which shows that people are migrating. Bandar was a town with a population of 36,000 wayback in 1878 but TDP has been ignoring the interests of farmers, women groups and all sections, he said.
