Happy April Fool’s Day!

Politics is now such a heady mixture of real and fake news that celebrating April Fool’s Day is rather difficult now. Every news appears suspect and every action is designed to elicit an unequal and opposite reaction. Sorry Newton!

The award must today go to the Congress party for taking a dig at the PM for his election promise of bringing back the black money hoarded in Swiss banks to deposit 15 lakhs in each Indian’s bank account.

The official Congress party handle posted a message claiming that Rs 15 lakh had been deposited into all bank accounts. It also released a spoof video mocking the BJP for failing to fulfill several campaign promises and over the performance of several highly publicised government schemes.

On the other side of the fence, writer Chetan Bhagat tweeted that he is officially joining the Congress and for further details he linked his tweet to the Wikipedia page on April fools day.
