Upping the ante against Chandrababu Naidu for once again trying to water down the Special Category Status (SCS) in the garb of a formula, YSR Congress has said that the chief minister has a twin-point agenda of surrendering to Delhi to either wriggle out of the corruption charges against him or for approving schemes where there is room for kickbacks.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, Chandrababu Naidu has been taking up a different course in the name of a new formula in connivance with Centre without divulging the details at a time when SCS issue has mobilized a public opinion and has received a huge response from a wide section of people.
People are unable to understand the secrecy of the proposed formula as the State and Centre should be categorical and transparency should be the watchword as it is not a TDP-BJP affair but SCS is the lifeline of people of Andhra Pradesh, she said.
The overtures were dropped at a time when the agitation for SCS has been on the ascent and our Party has geared up to take the fight to Delhi on March 5 coinciding with the resuming of Budget Session. YSR Congress has been in the forefront of SCS all the time and Chandrababu Naidu has been constantly changing tunes and his advance and retreat policy are in tune with his personal agenda and not the interest of people.
The Party contingent will leave by a special train from Vijayawada and the Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will flag-off the march on March 3 and the protest in the national capital will start on March 5 at Sansad Marg, she said.
Even when the unpleasant memory of special package is still fresh among the people, the formula has been brought to the fore to deviate the attention from the mounting pressure on SCS, she said.
It is the bounden duty of the Chief Minister to be categorical about the formula worked out with the Centre in the interest of the people of the State.
The state has been on the top on various counts from corruption to atrocities on women and it also holds the distinctions of having the countrys richest Chief Minister, she said.
