Srikanth Reddy Dares Chandrababu for Debate on Corruption in Irrigation

YSR Congress party senior leader and MLA G Srikanth Reddy challenged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to come for a debate on corruption in the irrigation projects taken up by the TDP government. Speaking to the media, the YSR Congress MLA claimed he possessed all evidences with regard to corruption.

He alleged that Chandrababu escalated the cost of Veligonda, Handri Neeva, Galeru – Nagari, Gandikota, Padipalem and Thotapally projects and siphoned off public money. Farmer Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy has taken up all these projects and completed most of the works. Srikanth Reddy explained in detail the misuse of funds in Veligonda project. He ridiculed Chandrababu’s claim that Veligonda was taken up by his government.

The Rayachoty MLA said the TDP government alloted Veligonda project sub works to RK infra company at Rs 91 crore. In addition, the estimations were also increased 5 per cent excess in 2017. He questioned for handing over the works on a single tender.

He also brought to light the contract agency drew Rs 14 crore by submitting false documents on the completion of the works. The Chief Secretary already ordered internal enquiry into the incident but the Irrigation minister Uma Maheshwara Rao put the probe in the cold storage, Srikanth Reddy added.
