KVP's Open Challenge To TDP

The Congress leaders have visited Polavaram project site to see the spillway and diaphragm wall construction works.

Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao said, “If TDP can prove that I am trying to stop Polavaram, I am ready to resign as Rajya Sabha MP close to 2-and-a-half years before the end of my term and I won’t even place my foot in AP again.”

He also said that former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy realized the importance of water during his Padayatra and begun many irrigation projects including Polavaram. “Had if YSR was alive, Polavaram project would have been completed long back. Allegations that I am obstructing Polavaram are false. I just approached the court to ensure Centre bears entire project cost as per AP Reorganization Act 2014.

Raghuveera Reddy said, “During Congress rule, TDP criticized us for digging canals without completion of the construction work. Will TDP be able to bring Godavari water to Krishna Delta using Pattiseema had if we hadn’t done it? At least now, CM should focus on construction work rather than publicity. We will fight for the welfare of people who got affected by Polavaram’.
