Andhra Pradesh Minister Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao is embroiled in a controversy after a couple from Hyderabad city lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the Minister had been harassing them over property issue.
The couple identified as Atluri Pravija and Suresh of Banjara Hills Road No 12, approached the police after they were threatened by the Minister. In their complaint to the police, the couple alleged that the Uma Maheshwara Rao had threatened them with dire consequences if their property which is located in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh is not sold to them.
The couple also told the police they are facing life threat from the Minister. Minister and his henchmen are trying to forcibly encroach the 2-acre land piece that is located in Chevitikallu village, Suresh said. The Banjara Hills police started an inquiry into the allegations made by the couple.
Devineni Uma has several cases pending against him on land grabbing in Andhra Pradesh.
