Expressing solidarity with the doctors of Rajasthan who had to face assaults on resorting to strike, the resident doctors of All India Institute of Health Sciences wrote a letter to the Prime Minister suggesting that he spend a day as a government doctor to understand the severe stress faced by them at workplace.
The AIIMS Resident Doctors’ Association President, Harjit Singh Bhatti in his letter wrote “RDA AIIMS requests you to put on white apron and spend one day as a government doctor to understand the tremendous amount of pressure we face, the agony of patients who did not get treatment, the dying healthcare system due to lack of resources and infrastructure.”

The doctors of AIIMS also urged the Prime Minister to stop all atrocities against doctors in Rajasthan. It must be remembered that doctors who are on strike in Rajasthan for higher pay and promotions were intimidated by the BJP government there(Vasundhara Raje being the Chief Minister), arrested and forced back to work by envoking the Essential Services Act.
