Today ,December 24th ,was commemorated by Google Doodle to celebrate his 93rd birth anniversary.
“The man who wrote his legacy through the words he sang.”
Google India’s Twitter handle described the legendary singer, who has almost 5,000 songs to his credit, as “the man who wrote his legacy through the words he sang.”
His songs touch innumerable hearts everyday and to mention a few , “O Duniya ke Rakhwale” and “Man Tarpat hari darshan ko aaj” are immortal works of music. The secular fabric of India is evident in the fact that the above songs, considered as the greatest bhajans ever, were created by a trio of artists who all happen to be Muslims: Naushad(music director), Mohd. Rafi(singer) and Shakeel Badayuni(lyricist).
