3 School buses collide in ghat section, loss of life averted

An excursion had turned a nightmare for the students of City School here in Visakhapatnam when the brakes of one of the buses they were traveling in got failed. An alert driver before the bus, applied brakes to stop the vehicle averting major loss of life.

The incident occurred at Yarada Konda, a picnic spot in the port city here in Saturday. As many as 120 students of the City School were set out for an excursion this morning.

After having lunch at Light House, all the students left for Yarada beach in three school buses. When the buses reached ghat section, brakes of the third bus got failed. The bus driver who noticed this, applied brakes to stop the third bus. This led to the collision and even first bus too attempted to stop the next two buses that were moving down the ghat with high speed. At last, all the three got collided resulting in minor injuries to the students. They were all shifted to King George Hospital. Parents and family members heaved a sigh of relief as the driver averted a major mishap.
