After a long delay, Gopichand’s Oxygen has hit the theaters across the world on Friday. Let’s see how the film shaped up.
Raghupathi (Jagapathi Babu) and Veerabhadram (Shayaji Shinde) are two rival families in a village in Rajahmundry. But Raghupathi’s elder brother gets killed by two mysterious persons. So, Raghupathi decides his daughter Shruthi (Raashi Khanna) to get married to an NRI.
Krishna (Gopichand) comes from USA to marry Shruthi. He saves his family when the rival group attacked them. To the shock of everyone, Raghupathi’s son and brother get killed by an unknown suspect. Who is behind this? Does Krisha has any past? Watch the film on the big screen to know the answers.
Hero Gopichand tried his best to carry the film on his shoulders but went in vain. For some reasons, he looked dull in the first half. He looks handsome and his performance is impressive but the movie will not add any value to his career. He should be careful while signing the films.
Raashi Khanna looks perfect and is an apt for the role as village girl. Anu Emmanuel does not have much to do. She is not that attractive in the film. Jagapathi is decent and justifies his role. Ali brings a few laughs. Others didn’t have scope.
Cinematography is decent. Editing is a major minus and it should have been a lot crisper. Background score does not gel with emotions of the film. Songs placement is also not good. Direction and screenplay are not upto the mark.
First half of Oxygen runs like a routine masala concoction but the interval twist brings some hopes on second half. Songs placement and slow narration marred the mood of audience. The best part of the movie is interval twist and a few scenes in the second half.
Overall, it is not a film of Gopichand’s standards.
Rating: 1.5/5
