Unable to digest the popularity of Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu and his associates are conspiring to create hurdles, Party MP YV Subba Reddy has said and reiterated that Special Category Status (SCS) is the only ray of hope for the development of the state.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said, ‘ the tremendous response to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra has sent shivers down the spine of ruling TDP and it has been scheming to foil the mass contact programme through nefarious means.

The design of the ruling dispensation to keep YS Jagan Mohan Reddy away from the people is being closely watched by people who will teach a fitting lesson at the right moment,’ he said.

‘We have moved a Private Members Bill in the Lok Sabha on SCS and we expect that it would come up for discussion in the ensuing Parliament session. We will take all political parties into confidence and work for floor coordination to muster support of other political parties on the issue to mount pressure on the Centre,’ he said.

We are ready to quit the Lok Sabha if there is any assurance of SCS. It should be noted that Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu had assured of SCS in the public meeting held at Tirupati during electioneering.

Now Chandrababu Naidu has been telling that SCS is a closed chapter and has taken the special package, whatever was given by that name. The state has no sincerity on Polavaram and has taken a decision to change contractors for the sake of kickbacks, he said.

We will lodge a complaint against state minister Nara Lokesh for distorting the facts and leveling false allegation against us on the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. We will lodge a complaint to the Speaker of Lok Sabha and Assembly Speaker for his derogatory remarks who has been time and again telling that the Centre has stopped funds based on our letter.

What we have wrote was that the Centre has to order for an inquiry into the misuse of Central funds by the State and this was being misinterpreted and repeatedly told by the TDP minister. We were concerned about the use of machines in place of manual work which goes against the spirit of the welfare scheme, he said.
