YSR Congress Party leader and Kurnool MP Butta Renuka is all set to join ruling TDP. With the YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy declined to accept the MP’ s demand, the MP decided to swift loyalties to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Speculations have been doing rounds Butta Renuka’ s joining TDP ever since another YSR Congress leader and Nandyal MP SPY Reddy joined TDP Soon after 2014 elections.
Renuka has been demanding Jagan to allot party ticket to her the same constituency in 2019 and also bear all election expenses. Jagan turned down her plea and instead asked to to contest from Yemmiganur Assembly Constituency. But the MP is not keen to contest Assembly elections.
If reports are to be believed, Chandrababu offered Rs 70 crore, big contract works and also party ticket to contest from the same Kurnool constituency to the MP. Leaders said Renuka will join TDP as the ruling party accepted to fulfill all her demands.
Amid reports that the MP will quit YSR Congress, the leaders said it is good for the party as Renuka was neither a strong leader nor maintaining support from people. Renuka quitting the party will not affect the winning prospects of YSR Congress. The TDP leaders also expressed apprehensions on the MP’s leadership qualities.
