YSRCP suspects irregularities in Polavaram project

YSR Congress has demanded the Central Government to institute a CBI probe into the irregularities and delay in Polavaram multipurpose project besides the cost escalation and irregularities in the ongoing works of various irrigation projects in the state.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana said, ‘ the state revised the estimates of Polavaram project to benefit the contractors in lieu of kickbacks and now has been blaming contractors for the delay which is ridiculous.

The company which was given the contract has a shady background and it was given to it as the owner happens to be the Party MP and the escalation of cost was highlighted by our Party many times but it was ignored.

Now when the deadline is closing by, the State is trying to cover up its inefficiency by shifting the blame on the contractors.
