The Indian Meteorological Department issued heat wave alert in all districts of Telangana, even as Tuesday saw a steep rise of temperature of 5 degrees above normal. Nalgonda recorded the highest of 46.4 degrees centigrade while Hyderabad sizzled at 42.4 degrees centigrade on Tuesday. Both Khammam and Bhadrachalam crossed the 45 degrees mark. The mining districts of Kothagudem crossed 45 degrees.
105 deaths due to heat in TS
The State government has constituted verification committees with 3 members in all districts to ascertain the facts about the over 105 deaths said to be due to the scorching heat so far. Only after the verification of these committees will compensation be released to the heat wave victims. Meanwhile the suffering and deaths continue unabated along with the intense heat wave conditions.
Early monsoon expected
The only consolation in the growing heat was the forecast of an early monsoon this year. The Department forecast the arrival of monsoon in Kerala by May 30th, with a margin of 4 days. The IMD also forecast a normal monsoon this year.
