BJP looks for leader weighing caste equations!!

The long pending change of guard of AP state BJP is finally picking up momentum and the party high command is seriously looking for a ‘suitable’ alternative candidate to replace the present incumbent Hari Babu whose term ended long back. In the light spectacular victories in UP and three others states and regaining of its lost Delhi glory in recent Municipal Corporation elections, the party high command is of the view that it the right time to expand its wings to southern states including Andhra Pradesh, irrespective of its alliance with the ruling TDP.

And the party Chief Amit Sha has already commenced on 95 day tour of targeted states.

According to well placed sources in the party, the party high command is keen to have preferable a Kapu leader to lead the party while leaving the second option Kamma community.

And according to source three names two from Kapu community and one from Kamma community are prominently figuring in discussions at national level. The party national president Amit Sha known for accurately assessing the caste equations in any given state is said to be in favour of Kapu community as Kamma and Reddy communities are engaged with TDP and YSRCP respectively.

It is learnt that he is weighing between Somu Veerraju, an old guard of the party with RSS background and also enjoys organization support and Kanna Laxminarayana, a former Congress leader and a former minister who shifted loyalties to BJP after Congress debacle 2014 elections. In case for any other reasons, if the party decides to have a Kamma as its president then Purandeswari candidature will be considered, the sources said.

Meanwhile a senior leader of the party said that the chances of Purandeswari are very bleak, however she along with Kanna and Veerraju will be on the fore front party lead team.

And it was also heard in the party circles that party chief Amit Sha is keen to utilize the services all the three known Chandrababu Naidu biters to check Naidu – Naidu(Venkaiah) coterie game plan to play second fiddle to TDP. However, a final call on it will be taken only after the BJP national executive meeting to be held in Vizag in June.
