Srinu Vaitla, who had a setback with his previous film, is back with Mister starring Mega hero Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel in the lead roles. Lets see whether it gives Srinu Vaitla his much needed hit.

Chai (Varun Tej), who is a happy-go-lucky guy, stays with his parents in France. By mistake, Chai picks up a wrong girl Meera (Hebbah) at an airport. Meera has come to France on a five-day tour. During her tour, they visit all the locations in the city and Chai falls for her. But he receives a shock as Meera is in love with another guy Siddharth (Prince). In another twist, Meera seeks Chai’s help. Chai heads to India to help her love. In the process, he meets a village belle Chandramukhi (Lavanya Tripathi). How will Chai help Meera? Why did Siddarth refuse to marry Meera? forms the rest of the story.

The main plus point of the film is Varun Tej’s performance. He has underplayed his character quite well. He needs to improve his dances a lot. Hebah Patel and Lavanya Trpathi didn’t get much of a chance to exhibit their talent. They did well within the limitations of their character. Their presence will help the film to attract youth. Raghubabu, Nasser, Nithin Dhar, Murali Sharma and Surekha Vani have performed according to their roles.

All the major supporting characters do justice to their roles.

Mickey J Meyer’s music is medicore and all the songs go unnoticed. But the visuals and choreography are arresting and make the scenes appealing. Background score is not up to the mark. Editing is alright. Dialogues are funny at times. Production values are top notch.

Coming to director Srinu Vaitla, he comes up with a routine film. Story of Mister offers nothing novel and the screenplay goes haywire without any proper direction. Mister reminds NTR’s Brindavanam to some extent.

Srinu Vatila’s screenplay and narration in the first half are good but the graph slows down post the interval. Second half of the film is utterly boring with uninteresting sub plots. Comedy in a couple of scenes is good and has saved this film from ending up as a flop.

The audience, who look for some variety and novelty, find the movie boring. Foreign episode in the first half, a few comedy scenes, good cinematography and locations are only the plus points of the movie.

Final Verdict:

Story of the film is quite routine, and has nothing new ​to offer. Though comedians evoke a few laughs, it has now become stale, and is showcased many times in Srinu Vaitla’s movies off late. Too many characters come in and go out during the second half, making the plot a bit complex at times. This was seen in Bruce Lee and Aagadu. It seems Srinu Vatila has not learnt lesson from his mistakes.
