Best picture Oscar goes to Moonlight after confusion

Oscar awards today had its high moments and moments of total confusion. The moment of confusion was when a wrong cue card was read by the presenter, Faye Dunaway, who announced that La la Land is the winner for Best Picture. The mistake was clarified on the stage, amid some drama and it was Moonlight that secured the Oscar.

Dedicates Oscar to the Underrepresented

McCraney of Moonlight dedicated the award to the “black and brown” kids and “non-gender conforming who don’t see themselves, we’re trying to show you… this is for you.”

Moonlight also won an award for Mahershala Ali (Supporting Actor)- a first for a Muslim actor.

La la Land wins 6 Oscars

La la Land wins 6 Oscars, including Best Director award and Best Actress award for Emma Stone. The Best Actor award went to Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea.

Trump taunted in Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel, was the host of the show and in his opening address said, “Maybe this is not a popular thing to say, but I want to say thank you to Donald Trump. I mean, remember last year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist? It’s gone. Thanks to him!”
