Senior Congress leader and former union minister S. Jaipal Reddy in an interview to a TV channels has made some sensational comments on Congress high command’s miss calculations on assessing the YS Rajasekhara Reddy popularity when he died in an accident. In a candid admission Reddy said that the party high command had failed to understand the ground realities and the pulse of the people even after YSR’s sudden demise.
If the Congress high command had assessed the situation in right perspective and announced YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as his father’s successor the situation would have been different, he said. Jaipal Reddy, who was very close to 10 Janpath, the real power centre at that time said that the party high command had realized its mistake, but not before YS Jagan walked out of the party.
