In his first major rally in Orlando Airport in Florida, exactly 4 weeks after being sworn in as President of the United States, Trump went all out against the media and said they were dishonest and had their own agenda. He said he wanted to be among friends and the people without the filter of fake news. Blaming the media for all problems he argued that he has done a lot of work in a very short time.
Terming that the White House was run “smoothly” he said, “You’ve seen what we’ve accomplished in a very short period of time. The White House is running so smoothly.” Putting the blame on the media
A chaotic 4 weeks
The period of Trump has united people protesting against his policies like never before, both in America and other countries around the world. In a way, Trump has succeeded in uniting all his opponents, men and women, those supporting women’s rights, right for abortion, LGBT rights, minority rights and civil society activists.
His infamous Muslim ban has earned censure from all quarters and is right now put on hold by the Court order, which his government has petitioned against. There is also news of his bringing on a new order on immigration. The chaos has mounted after his national security adviser Michael Flynn’s alleged ties with Russia, which led to the latter’s resignation from the post.
Asked if it was too early to be holding a campaign event, Mr. Trump said, “For me, it’s a campaign. To make America great again is absolutely a campaign. It’s not easy, especially when we’re also fighting the press,” he said.
