The latest reports from the camp of YSR Congress party is that its the leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating undertaking Padayatra to highlight the failures of the Chandrababu Naidu government. Our reliable sources says that YS Jagan will first begin with a mini padayatra. He is all set to conduct padayatra from Anakapally to Bheemili in Visakhapatnam demanding a separate railway zone at Visakhapatnam.

It is learnt that Jagan wanted to highlight that Chandrababu is not lobbying hard enough with the Centre to create a railway zone with Visakhapatnam and thus, he failed to get the railwayzone.

Sources also say that Botsa will look after Jagan’s padayatra and he is making all the necessary arrangements for it.

‘Padayatra’ (Foot March) is not a new phenomena in Andhra Politics. In the recent history the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had created history by walking about 1500 km from Chevella in RR district to Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district. And his ‘Maha Prasthanam’ successfully brought Congress party back to power in united Andhra Pradesh after a gap of 10 years. The present Chief Minister of the AP State and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP women leader and YSR’s daughter Sharmila too walked miles and miles on political path, with limited or no impact when compared with YSR Maha Prasthanam.

In this backdrop, it was speculated that Jagan Reddy who is pinning all his hopes on Special Category Status issue, will go for walkathon before the elections.

It seems YS Jagan may take final decision on the state wide padayatra after seeing the response in Vizag.
