AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s media management skills are well known and he has mastered in this art.
His recent decision to appoint 25 journalists on specifically for his publicity works has received flak from all the corners. Recently, the AP Government issued an order authorising the I&PR department to establish special teams consisting of 25 journalists recruited on outsourcing basis with retrospective effect from September 1, 2016. They are being paid each Rs 51,468 per month, which would be a burden of Rs 1.54 crore to the state exchequer.
Popular Supreme Court lawyer and founder of Swaraj Abhiyan Prashant Bhushan criticized Chandrababu’s decision to recruit journalists for publicity works. “Now AP CM officially bribes 25 journos to do his PR & publicly work!” he tweeted.
And several other media groups found fault with this decision. Chandrababu apparently mellowed down and withdrew the order on Thursday morning.
