With huge expectations, mega Power star Ram Charan’s Dhruva has hit the theaters on Friday. The combination of the mego hero and stylish director Surender Reddy has created much curiosity. Let’s find out how the movie has shaped up.
Dhruva (Ram Charan) is a sincere cop, whose sole aim is to kill one kingpin who is behind all crimes in society. He follows all the crimes in the city to find out that one kingpin. He comes to know that Siddharth Abhimanyu (Arvind Swami), who is the Padma Sri award winning scientist, is a mastermind of a huge conspiracy in pharmaceutical industry.
Dhruva takes charge as a police officer in the Organised Crime Intelligence Unit and starts his mission to take down Siddharth. How will he destroy Siddarth’s operation?. forms the rest of the story.
Ram Charan completely transformed for this film. His flaunts his six-pack abs and his body is full on display in the songs. Ram Charan has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. Aravind Swamy slips into his role very effortlessly and he is suave. His role is very intense. Rakul Preet Singh has not much to do but she has shown her hotter side in Pareshanura song. Posani Krishna Murali tries to evoke a few laughs. Navadeep has got a good role. Others have performed according to their roles.
Dhruva is high on production values. Camerawork is main attraction and most of the scenes are visually beautiful. Music by Hip Hop Tamizha adds to the excitement of the narration and his background score is terrific. Editing is average and some scenes could have been chopped easily in the second half.
As expected, Surender Reddy made Dhruva as a slick and stylish racy thriller. No major changes were made to the Tamil original movie and the story and screenplay of Dhruva is almost similar to it. The scenes between Charan and Swamy are a delight to watch. Several scenes are dragged in the second half. The chemistry between Rakul and Charan are not that good. The film lacks comedy and those who are expecting a complete mass entertainer will be disappointed.
Dhruva is a worth watchable for audience that are craving different cop films.
