Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa passed away on Monday night. Condolences poured in from all quarters but a blunt tweet from Kamal Haasan has irked many. Kamal Hasaan wrote in Tamil, “Deep sympathy for those who depend on Jayalalithaa.”
This tweet has upset many of Jaya’s supporters who hit back at the actor on Twitter.
Kamal Haasan’s daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan have also expressed their condolence for Jayalalithaa on Twitter. Angered at Kamal’s tweet, supporters of the Amma slammed him saying that he should “learn something from his daughters”.
Some other wrote, “What’s the point in being well learned if there is no decency. Shame. I used to be a fan of yours,” “@ikamalhaasan trying to make up a controversy again.. nothing else,” and, “You’re exponentially becoming a bigger embarrassment almost every time you air an opinion.”
Some TV channels reported that Kamal Haasan is in the US for the shooting of his upcoming film and he could not able to attend the final rites of Jaya.
It may be recalled here that Kamal and Jayalalithaa got into a major row during the release of the actor’s Vishwaroopam
